I had the most eye opening conversation with someone I know who is in an interracial marriage. The conversation she had with her kids was so much different from mine.
While I talked to my elementary age kids about racism, how evil it is, and how we must love others… she spoke to her elementary age kids about how to act in the presence of police. They cried together and when I heard it I cried too.
No one had that conversation with me growing up because no one needed to. My eyes are opening. I’m with you. 🖤 #blackouttuesday
