Here at The Parent Game, we often see some pretty ingenious ways that dads tackle household chores. So when one of our own staff members shared the hilarious saga of their dad setting up a Suncast Hosemobile Mobile Hose Reel, we knew it was a story that needed to be shared.
Now, for those of you not in the know, a Suncast Hosemobile Mobile Hose Reel is essentially a fancy contraption that allows you to easily store and move around your garden hose. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, not if you’re a dad on a mission.
Our intrepid dad decided that this hose reel was the answer to all his gardening woes. With dreams of effortlessly watering the plants and keeping the yard tidy, he eagerly set to work assembling the Hosemobile. Armed with instructions and determination, our dad dove headfirst into the task at hand.
What followed can only be described as a comedy of errors. Screws were lost, parts were assembled backwards, and at one point, the hose reel itself nearly rolled away from him. Undeterred, our dad soldiered on, determined to conquer the Hosemobile once and for all.
After what felt like an eternity (but was probably only a couple of hours), the Hosemobile was finally up and running. Our dad proudly surveyed his handiwork, a triumphant smile on his face. He was ready to take on any watering task that came his way, armed with his trusty new garden tool.
As we watched this epic saga unfold, we couldn’t help but chuckle at the sheer determination and tenacity of our dad. Sure, setting up a Hosemobile may not be the most glamorous task, but it’s proof that dads are willing to go to great lengths to make their lives a little bit easier.
